For many years she served on the South African Hockey Association Executive committee in various portfolios. In 1995 she was approached to become involved as a technical official and she accepted this with open arms. Sheila’s first international break came in 1996 when she was appointed as a judge to Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.
