Ginny’s involvement in hockey commenced  when she was at school, where she played for her school team

On leaving school she become involved in club hockey in Zimbabwe and moved up the ranks to play in the “Flame Lilies” and national team in Zimbabwe.  She has had a long association with hockey as an Administrator, International Umpire and an FIH Technical Official.

She is passionate about hockey and works hard for the sport throughout Africa.  Always there to encourage and help others with the game where she can.

BACKGROUND:

Ginny has two children and had to give up playing at a competitive level, so took up umpiring and was graded FIH in 1990.  She became the Hon. Secretary of the HAZ and has been involved in different positions of administration on this board for many years.  In retiring from International umpiring, Ginny took to Officiating and has carried this out at the highest level, including 2016 Rio Olympics

Ginny has managed many Zimbabwe national teams to events all over the world

Ginny was elected onto African Hockey 2011 as an executive board member and in 2015 was elected to Vice President
